Work / Internship Experience

Bruce S. Rosenblatt & Associates, LLC

Internship: 07/2025 – 08/2025
During my internship at Bruce S. Rosenblatt & Associates LLC (BSR), I worked on developing a repowering for a hopper dredge. The repowering involved visiting the vessel, which needed to be repowered, and developing an operating profile through observation of ship operations, engine speeds, flow rates, and pressures. Using the vessel’s operating profile and yearly schedule, a powering estimate was created and used to identify multiple different types of powering configurations, to find an optimal solution for installation on the dredge.

American Bureau of Shipping (ABS)

Internship: 01/2025 – 02/2025
During my internship at American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) I worked in two departments. The first department was the Green Energy section of the Technologies department. Within this department, I developed CAPEX and OPEX analysis of ammonia and hydrogen ship refueling station. I also helped to develop the timeline for nuclear power development within the maritime field. The second department I worked in was Government Engineering Services. In this department, I analyzed foundation supports for different types of vessels. I also analyzed welding booklets to ensure rules compliance.

United States Marine Inc.

Internship: 01/2023 – 02/2023
During my internship at United States Marine Inc. (USMI) I worked on the floor of several departments.   Learning from each team allowed me to get a larger perspective on how to construct boats. I learned about basic composite construction and general vessel outfitting. My key takeaways from this internship were how to implement lean manufacturing techniques to speed up assembly line processes, and how to work safely in a rigorous industrial environment.

Cape May – Lewes Ferry

Internship: 01/2024 – 02/2024
During my internship at Cape May – Lewes Ferry I worked on the MV New Jersey, the MV Cape Henlopen, and the MV Delaware. I developed a report detailing critical systems onboard the MV New Jersey including fuel oil, lube oil, freshwater cooling, cargo management, and other systems. I also spent time on the MV New Jersey and the MV Delaware finding some of there hydrostatic and hydrodynamic properties. I also got the rare opportunity to help with the complete overhaul of the opposed piston Fairbanks Morse engine on the MV Cape Henlopen.
